Scam City
![]() |
| Mexico City is one of the most dangerous travel destinations in the world. |
Don´t get fooled abroad on your weekend trip or vacation to the big cities.
Today Mirror reports that a japanese couple were charged 400 euro for two plates of pasta and fish at the restaurant Antico Caffè di Marte in Rome.
In the TV-series
Scam City, Conor Woodman warns you about the following common tourist scams:
1. Rome, Italy:
a) Very expensive food and drinks. Up
to ten times higher prices than at home.
b) So called gladiators charge you big
sums for unauthorized tourist guiding.
2. Barcelona, Spain:
a) Large Romanian pickpocket gangs
surround you in the subway or in the streets and steal your wallet and
disappear.
3. London, England:
a) Poor Pakistanians try to steal your
mobile phone at bars.
b) Hustlers try to make you pay in
advance for non-existing parties and girls.
4. Hong Kong, China:
a) Shops sell false worthless Chinese
antiques at high prices.
b) Sugar babes try to make friends to
get your money.
5. Marrakech, Morocco:
a) False carpets are sold at high
prices.
b) Three card monte street hustles. (It´s impossible to win if they don´t want you to.)
6. Buenos
Aires, Argentina:
a) False money (50/100-pesos bills) is passed out on
a large scale everywhere to tourists.
b) Beautiful black widows contact you
at bars, poison you and then steal everything.
7. Las Vegas, USA:
a) False VIP party tickets are sold in
the streets for quite a sum. (Up to a 100 dollars)
b) False Vegas apartment rentals on the
internet with addresses that don´t exist.
8. Bangkok, Thailand:
a) False worthless jewelry sold for big
sums to tourists.
b) Clip joint scams at strip clubs.
(They overcharge your drinks and threat you if you don´t pay.)
c) Sugar babes looking for naïve sugar daddies
to get hold of their cash.
9. Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil:
a) Pickpocket gangs on the beaches try
to disappear with your bag.
10. Istanbul, Turkey:
a) Clip joint scams at clubs. They can
force you to pay a 1000 bucks (and more) for five drinks, and the police don´t
give a damn.
11. New Orleans, USA:
a) False Mardi Gras party tickets are
sold for up to 400 dollars. Then they don´t let you in.
12. Bogotá, Colombia:
a) Beautiful black widows at the hotels
serve you scopolamine “mickeys”. Then you´re transported away and imprisoned
for days or weeks while the gang empties your accounts, since you tell them the
truth (scopolamine) and reveals your card´s pin code.
13. Mexico City, Mexico:
a) One of the world´s most dangerous
destinations together with Bogotá. Here cab drivers can kidnap you, keep you
locked up for a long time while they claim a very big ransom. Even the police can be involved in these scams.
14. New York, USA:
a) New York is today a cleaned up city
and actually a very safe tourist destination. Pickpockets though exist so watch your
wallet, especially at bars.
b) False perfume made in China is sold
cheap in Canal Street.

| Carolina Neurath i Morgonstudion. |

Spotify or Blurify?
![]() |
| Sometimes it´s hard to tell the shit from the essence of heaven. |
Now I have
tested a pay version of Spotify and I´m disappointed. Spotify feels bad or even
shitty I´d say. It´s hard to quickly find a good selection of songs. You have
to search and search, often in vain, for that right new song that´s supposed
to make your day.
The site is
messy and the playlists are filled with padding and often lack real quality.
They guys at Spotify are really wasting your time with tons of crap music. The
music editors don´t seem to do their job properly.
To be honest I doubt they can tell the difference between Julio Iglesias and Frank Sinatra.
To be honest I doubt they can tell the difference between Julio Iglesias and Frank Sinatra.
Today Spotify is introduced on Wall Street. The share is now selling for about 150 dollars.
I´d give 10
bucks for it. Or maybe not even that.
Spotify is definitely
not what the music business is about or need, and many artists are rightly so very sceptical too.
The company shouldn´t be called “Spotify”. That´s a joke.
Let´s call
them “Blurify” instead.
